Pennridge FISH (Fellowship in Serving Humanity) serves economically-challenged households with food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance in an effort to assist in the alleviation of hunger, poverty, and homelessness in the Pennridge School District.

ABOUT OPERATIONS
 
Pennridge FISH Organization, Inc. [hereafter FISH] is a non-profit corporation, registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State as a 501[c]3 charitable organization with permission to solicit tax-exempt contributions.
 
FISH is a volunteer service provider to those in need in  the Pennridge School District. 
 
FISH maintains a food pantry and clothing outlet.  Food and clothing are donated by local churches, businesses, social organizations and individuals.  FISH receives food from the USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program [TEFAP], Pennsylvania State Food Purchase Program [SFPP] and the Philabundance program - Grocers Against Hunger.  In addition, FISH supplements these donations with purchased food from Philabundance and local food suppliers and markets.
 
Clients may visit the pantry during our regular hours, Monday and Wednesday 3-5 PM, Thursday evening 6-8 PM, Friday and Saturday 9-11 AM. No appointment is necessary.
 
FISH offers Emergency Financial Assistance as a bridge to help clients in the Pennridge community when crises arise in their lives.  This is not to be considered welfare, but rather one-time help until the client can establish a permanent solution to their financial needs.  Clients must fill out an application and supply documentation indicating their residence in Pennridge and proving their need.  These payments are never made to the client, but are paid to the vendor.
 
FISH also offers school bags/school supplies in August, and Christmas help with food, toys and gifts to those in need.
 
There is never a charge to our clients.   FISH is an equal opportunity provider. Clients receive food assistance regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or family status.
 
FISH  takes it's symbol, the Icthus fish, from early Christianity, and it's acronym
stands for: Fellowship In Serving Humanity.
